Seventy five years later, public libraries are going strong, with 369 libraries across the state, 3.2 million members (that’s 44% of the population), 46 million loans per annum and over 35 million people visiting libraries each year. 2014 is the 75th anniversary of the Library Act 1939 which was passed by State Parliament on 3 November 1939. Many users report lethargy, drowsiness, and dizziness after taking tranquilizers. Decreased motivation, irritability, nausea, headaches, skin rashes, impaired sexual functioning, menstrual irregularities, tremors, loss of appetite, or increased appetite, lethargy and over sedation, and vivid or disturbing dreams are all possible side effects of tranquilizer use. With regular use, tranquilizers can create psychological and physical dependence similar to that of barbiturates.

They are available by prescription only.
