CSA Schedule 4 Some potential for abuse.

It seemed to work well for the first year or so but I have been on it and am at the maximum dosage and now I have been on it for 10 years and it does not seem to help now.

No side effects other than being tired in the beginning. Keeps you in the middle (not depressed or manic). Helps with other medicines like lithium and Wellbutrin.

It helps with my anxiety.

I take lamotrigine, 100mg twice a day as my primary mood stabilizer.

Klonopin bipolar
Bipolar Disorder Treatment - The New York Times

Bipolar disorder is a recurrent disease that can be unpredictable.. Benzodiazepines, such as clonazepam (Klonopin) or lorazepam (Ativan).

In fact, depressive episodes are very difficult and patients who do not respond to mood stabilizers may endure prolonged depressive episodes up to 2 - 3 months. Depressive episodes pose a particular challenge because many antidepressant drugs pose a risk for triggering mania. It is also not clear if standard antidepressants work for bipolar depression.

The doctor will first try to determine what may have triggered the attack and identify any accompanying medical or emotional problems that might interfere with or complicate treatment.

In general, doctors do not recommend the routine use of atypical antipsychotics during pregnancy.

Klonopin for Bipolar II? - MDJunction

Klonopin for Bipolar II? - MDJunction

I'm on 300 lamictal, 150 wellbutrin, and now 0.5 Klonopin. I was wondering if anyone else has tried Klonopin for Bipolar 2 and how it worked for.

Don't worry about the small add on dose. It can help with anxiety attacks, or edginess brought on by the other drugs or even just as a quick emergency med if you feel yourself feeling too high.

I had an rx before I was diagnosed bipolar. I took it to sleep and I remember how much it evened out my mood too.

Also, Klonopin is only an add on. It is in no way for me or anyone else I know with any type of bipolar, to be considered a main med.

I could feel those two wearing off. I think the Klonopin wears off slowly, at least for me. It really does help me a lot. I've been taking Klonopin for a long time due to my anxiety. Takes a while to kick in (maybe 1/2 an hour?) but it lasts much longer than Xanax and Ativan.

Why did your pdoc add the klonopin?

It's been a great med for me.

I was put on Seroquel which has been really good so far. Laura.

I have mot heard of Klonopin being a long term constant in the bipolar II treatment, but maybe more for an as needed basis?
