Does anyone know if regular anti-depressants like Lexapro would show up on a drug screen for employment at a hospital/health facility?.

If I'm taking Lexapro 10mg, and I don't disclose this on a med eval (pre-employment drug testing), will it show up? I'm afraid that by disclosing this information.

I guess my only concern is that they will deny me of the job due to this? What kind of a class would Lexapro be in terms of a drug classification?

This would be in the best interest of the patient. First of all, as a health care provider, I would recommend any depressed person to disclose this information during a pre-employment medical evaluation, if asked. I think this is especially important to disclose if employment may potentially impact the mental health of that provider. Police work can have a significant impact on psychological well being; therefore, I would recommend being honest.

As for the denying you a job and liability, I noticed you also have a thread in the legal category as well.

14 Aug 2010 Hi. It's not a drug type related to anything that is usually tested for. Lexapro will not, but the Klonopin and Restoril will be flagged out as Benzos - and I really don't know if the Flexeril will or will not for certain, but I would be willing to make a large bet that it would not.

I've looked around a lot and have found that 5 panel tests only test for morphine/heroine and not oxycodone, but those posts are generally from.

Presumably nothing since lexapro isn't tested for in a drug screen. Of course anti depressants can cause false positives in urine drug screens, so be sure the person testing knows you're on it.
