Brain Zaps withdrawal from Lexapro.. I am experiencing many of the other withdrawal symptoms as well, but honestly having my brain feel as.

Because of a prescription mixup between myself, my doctor, my pharmacy and my insurance, I have now missed 2-4 days compley of my Effexor. I already have chronic tinnitus (if that is indeed a diagnosable thing) that produces very high pitched background noise (kind of like white noise but with pronounced high pitches). I had very similar reactions when I would miss a dose while on Zoloft.

The longer I'veissed my dose, the more often I get the noise. Mine are about the length of a blink but has a very specific sound.

Lexapro Brain Zaps - Depression - Forum

I just had a question for those of you who have gone off antidepressants and experienced withdrawal symptoms I've been taking Lexapro for.

I read the side affects and the word "shock" is on the Rx sheet. I'm still having those wakeup shocks. He said they'll prob last a week or so. I got the new med but am too afraid to start them. I am weaning myself off the Xanax (with my GP knowledge)as well, since I am not anxious and am down to 1/2 a pill at the most before bedtime to help me sleep.

I was on Perox. I called my GP and he told me its just another depression symptom so I went on taking it for 2 more weeks. My pain con't in chest & ribs & neck so he felt this was depression symptoms and that was when he put me on Peroxitine(PAXIL).

Now I am coming off of Lexapro that I was been on for the past 4 months or so. brain or damage of any sort,(apart from the horrible withdrawal symptoms I know you must be scared of the brain zaps you were having and.

I don't know if they meaning the research or clinical studies even discuss the long term affects on the brain of any antidepressant or SSRI. I'm not aware of the long term affects on the brain. I'm always cautious, ask questions, do my own research abou the med and if possible try not to be on them for life if possible. As with any medication, I'm sure there can be some long term affects, some of which we may not even know.

For *me* when I d/c my last ssri I used Prozac for 2 weeks and that immensely helped with discontinuation issues.

WE are concerned. I am not trying to scare you but if you did not talk to your doctor about it you may want to. I wish you the best with this let us know how you keep doing. Many Blessings!.

Rachele. You need to check with a professional on antidepressants and effects on brain chemistry and or long term affects if known. I would address any worries or concerns you may have with your doc or another doctor to get a good picture of what may or may not occur. With most drugs they do alter your brain chemistry, some may or may not be permanant.

I'm suffering with the brain zaps after coming off of Lexapro. I tapered off the Lexapro, incrementally and very, very slow. The withdrawal symptoms didn't start.
