MEDLINE is the primary component of PubMed, part of the Entrez series of databases provided by the NLM National Center for Biotechnology Information.

The majority of the publications covered in MEDLINE are scholarly journals; a small number of newspapers, magazines, and newsletters considered useful to particular segments of the NLM broad user community are also included. For citations published in 2010 or later, over 40% are for cited articles published in the U.S., about 93% are published in English, and about 84% have English abstracts written by authors of the articles.

MedlinePlus is an online information service produced by the United States National Library of Medicine. The service provides curated consumer health.

The site has received several awards, and been described as, for example, "one of the best places to find medical information". MedlinePlus initially provided 22 health topics in English, which eventually expanded to over 800 health topics in English and Spanish, plus links to health information in over 40 languages.

MEDLINE Complete is the largest full-text companion to the MEDLINE index. Many are available with no embargo to allow users to access the information as.

Of the 2,400+ full-text journals available in MEDLINE Complete, more than 1,300 titles are not found with full text in any version of A cademic Search, Health Source or Biomedical Reference Collection.

MEDLINE Complete is the largest companion to the MEDLINE index and provides full text for over 2,400 medical journals. Many are available with no embargo to allow users to access the information as soon as it’s published.
