Detailed Naproxen dosage information for adults, the elderly and children. Initial: 250 mg to 500 mg (naproxen) or 275 mg to 550 mg (naproxen sodium) orally.

Initial: 250 mg to 500 mg (naproxen) or 275 mg to 550 mg (naproxen sodium) orally twice a day. In patients who tolerate lower doses well, the dose of naproxen sodium controlled-release may be increased to two 750 mg tablets (1500 mg) or three 500 mg tablets (1500 mg) orally once a day for limited periods. The initial dose for naproxen sodium controlled-release is two 375 mg tablets (750 mg) orally once a day, one 750 mg tablet orally once a day, or two 500 mg tablets (1000 mg) orally once a day. Maintenance: May be increased to a daily maximum of 1500 mg (naproxen) or 1650 mg (naproxen sodium) in 2 divided doses, for limited periods up to 6 months.

Dosage guidelines are based on naproxen : Greater than 2 years: 2.5 to 10 mg/kg/dose.
