I was on sertraline for a total of about 3.5 months and have been off 3.5 weeks. I've heard the average for withdrawal symptoms is around 6.

Clarifying ADA - whoops! I meant FDA! Glad you asked. They have all the recorded problems with meds at their disposal.

You will likely be amazed at what docs aren't ling you. Search term the name of your med along with 'lawsuits' and see if you can find information about adverse side effects that way.

Thanks again. I guess I should have titrated a lot slower. SSRIs just don't seem to suit me.

All antidepressant medications should be withdrawn from in a “tapering” manner to help ease withdrawal symptoms. Quitting cold turkey is not.

I felt like an absolute zombie. I thought it was from my surgery. Of course, I was so out of my head I couldn’t realize until afterwards that it was much more than that. To say I was a mental wreck would be an understatement. But it wasn’t until today when I started reading your posts that I realized just how many of my symptoms were from withdrawal.

Will get straight back on the fish oil now and see if it helps alleviate those symptoms! Good luck to all, it’s a tough road that only those who walk will ever understand.

When one stops Zoloft too rapidly a withdrawal syndrome may develop. It is generally recommended that one taper off this medication gradually under a doctor's supervision. The withdrawal symptoms usually last 1-2 weeks but in some instances they may gradually decrease over a period as long as a month.
